Overview: Fax number permissions for users (Edify Console)
This article explains the fax number permissions for users configurable in Edify Console.

Edify users with adequate permissions can manage fax communications either through the fax workspace within the softphone and/or queue depending on the user’s license type.
Before a user can access the fax workspace housed within the softphone, in Edify Console you must configure the user permissions container of the user’s profile to have fax capabilities enabled.
Keep in mind that you must also configure your business’ account to have at least one fax phone number provisioned.
If you have provisioned multiple fax numbers to your business’ account and determined that a user requires fax capabilities, then you need to both enable the user’s fax permission within their profile’s user permissions container and you may also need to configure the user’s Fax Number Permission container. This container gives you the ability to assign a user access to a specific fax number provisioned to your company’s account.
When assigned a specific fax number(s), the user can only send, receive, and manage fax messages for the assigned number(s). If you do not assign a specific fax number(s) to a user, then the user has access to send fax messages from any of your business’ fax numbers as well as manage all fax messages received to all fax numbers provisioned to your company’s account.
Search: The Search bar is where you search for fax numbers by name from the Available Fax Numbers list.
Available Fax Numbers list: The Available Fax Numbers list displays all of the fax numbers provisioned to your account. Once you’ve selected a fax number from this list, it automatically moves to the Assigned Fax Numbers list. There currently isn’t a limit to the number of fax numbers that you can provision to a user. So, you can assign one or several fax numbers to a user.
Assigned Fax Numbers list: The Assigned Fax Numbers list list displays all of the assigned fax numbers that this user can manage through Edify. Once a fax number is assigned, the user has access to managing both inbound and outbound fax communication for that number. There isn’t a limit to the number of fax numbers that you can assign to a user.
Note: If you do not assign at least one specific fax number to the user, then that user has access to managing fax communications for all fax numbers provisioned to your business’ account.
