Overview
In Edify Console, you can create a new user for your Edify account. Once a user is created, you can configure several additional settings to manage how they can use Edify, like their basic settings, their queue permissions, or their user permissions.
Note: Some settings, like queue permissions and tag settings, are not able to be modified later if a user is created with a template. Instead, they’ll have to be modified in the template itself.
However, before customizing a user’s individual settings, you’ll first need to create the user’s account. To do this, you must complete the Create User form in the Users workspace of Edify Console (Account > Users).
To create a user, you have to fill out the following basic information:
Template (if making a user from a template. Note that some settings, like queue permissions and tag settings, are not able to be modified later if a user is created with a template. Instead, they’ll have to be modified in the template itself.)
First name
Last name
Email address
Extension number
Once you click the Save button, the user account will be officially created and available for further configuration. You’re ready to customize the user’s settings, including:
Basic settings (like who the user reports to and the user’s title)
Voice configurations (like where the user’s calls route to)
Voicemail configurations (like the user’s voicemail message)
Queue settings (like which queues the user has access to)
And more

Visual breakdown
Template: The Template menu allows you to select a user template to apply to the creation of this new user profile. The menu options available here are dependent on the templates that have been built on your Edify account. If you have not built a template, there aren’t any options listed in this menu.
License Type: The License Type menu allows you to define the user’s license type for their account.
First Name: This field is where you enter the new user’s first name. This name is what is displayed to coworkers in chat and the softphone directory. If the user is a queue user that manages webchat interactions, then this is also the name that’s displayed to customers during those interactions. So, it’s important to note that this name is viewable to both internal and external audiences. This field can be modified at any time both by an Edify admin in Edify Console and by the user in Edify App.
Last Name: This field is where you enter the new user’s last name. This name is what is displayed to coworkers in UC chat and in the softphone directory. So, it is important to note that this name is viewable to your business’ internal audience. This field can be modified at any time both by an Edify admin in Edify Console and by the user in Edify App.
Email: This field is where you enter the new user’s business email address. This email address is where the user’s temporary password is sent, and it’s also the email used for logging into Edify. This email address is viewable only to internal coworkers through profile details in chat. This field can be modified by an admin at any time after the user’s account is created.
Extension: This field is where you enter the new user’s extension number. This is the number used to contact this user directly. Once you enter this number, Edify automatically checks to verify that the extension number isn’t currently used by another person, queue, or ring group on your account. This field can’t be modified after the user has been created.
Create Another: The Create Another checkbox allows you to more quickly add additional users by clearing the form once one user is created so you can immediately complete the required fields again for each additional user you need to create. If you don’t check this box when you need to create multiple users in one sitting, the system returns you to the Users list view workspace and requires you to click the New User button to reopen the Create User form for each user.

2. Navigate to Account > Users.
