This article explains how to transfer call to an external number from softphone in Edify App.

Overview

In Edify App, you can transfer softphone calls to external numbers. While on a softphone call, you’ll start the transfer process by opening the Transfer (see annotation A in the screenshot below) and selecting Custom. 

From here, there are three ways that you can transfer calls to an external contact or number:

Attended transfer to external number or contact

1. While on an active call through the softphone, open the transfer menu.

2. Select Custom.

3. Initiating the attended transfer.

1. Type the phone number into the Number or Contact field

2. Click the Add+ button.

3. Notice the system instantly places the caller on hold and starts calling the external number.

4. Wait for the external person to answer.

4. Completing the attended transfer

1. Once they answer the attended transfer, you'll be connected and you can speak to the external person while the caller is on hold.

2. When you’re ready for the hand off to the external person, click the Transfer button to complete the attended transfer.

3. Notice the call ends for you and the softphone workspace closes.

Blind transfer to number or contact

1. While on an active call through the softphone, open the transfer menu.

2. Select Custom.

3. Type the phone number into the Number or Contact field.

4. Click the Transfer button.

5. Notice the system instantly starts transferring the caller to the external person.

Notice your softphone call ends and the softphone workspace closes.
