App > Settings > Call Settings > Overview: WebRTC Audio container in Profile Settings (App)
This article provides an overview of the WebRTC Audio container Call Settings.
The WebRTC Audio container in Call Settings lets you change WebRTC (softphone) settings.
In App, navigate to Settings > Edit Profile > Call Settings > WebRTC Audio container.
The softphone (webRTC) allows you to manage phone calls through your computer instead of through a physical desk phone. This lets you work from anywhere as long as you have access to App.
The Enable WebRTC toggle lets you enable or disable your softphone.
Enabled - When enabled, you can make calls strictly through the softphone, or the softphone and a desk phone (if you have one provisioned).
Disabled - When disabled, you can only make calls through a desk phone.
This toggle lets you choose if the WebRTC (softphone) will produce an audible ring. Since you can log into the App through the desktop application, Google Chrome web browser, or through a CTI (computer telephony integration) the name of this toggle will change based on how you access the system.
Enabled - The WebRTC (softphone) will produce an audible ring.
Disabled - The WebRTC (softphone) will not produce an audible ring.
The WebRTC Audio Input dropdown lets you choose which microphone to use. The menu options are specific to your computer and could include your computer’s internal microphone, a paired headset, and more.
The WebRTC Audio Output menu lets you choose which speaker to use for WebRTC (softphone) audio. The menu options are specific to your computer and could include your computer’s speakers, a paired headset, and more.
The WebRTC Ring Tone menu lets you choose what speaker to use for the WebRTC (softphone) ring. The menu options are specific to your computer and could include your computer speakers, a paired headset, and more.
The WebRTC Ringtone Volume slider lets you define the volume level at which your softphone rings when an inbound call rings you.
The WebHID Headset toggle lets you opt into using the WebHID features. This setting is applicable to when you use WebHID compatible headsets along with our WebRTC softphone. This setting defaults to ‘disabled’ because this feature doesn’t apply to all users. Read the Enable or disable WebHID article to manage these settings.
Enabled - You will be able to manage WebRTC (softphone) calls with your WebHID compatible headset and vice versa.
Disabled - You won’t be able to manage WebRTC (softphone) calls with your WebHID compatible headset and vice versa.
