Overview

The quick actions menu feature in Chat, allows users to do any of the following:

• Favorite/Unfavorite a channel 

• Mute/Unmute a channel

• Leave a channel

• Archive a channel

Hover over a channel or direct message to reveal the tri dot icon, then click it to open the menu of quick actions.

Visual breakdown

Favorite/Unfavorite (A)

Click Favorite to add a channel or direct message to the Favorites group at the top of the channel list. Click Unfavorite to remove a channel or direct message from the Favorites group. 

Notification (B)

Click Notification to open a menu with the following options:

• All - Receive notifications and unread counts when anyone posts in a chat or direct message.

• Mentions - Only receive notifications and unread counts when you or the entire channel is mentioned.

Leave (C)

Click Leave to remove a channel or direct message from your Channels list.

Archive (D)

Click Archive to remove a chat channel or direct message for everyone.

Note: Archiving a channel (whether public, private, or a direct message) archives it for everyone. We recommend that you exercise caution when archiving chat channels.
